Yes, there is an American and a European versions of Roulette! If you have not heard about this before, keep on reading to find out what the differences between them are and which one gives players the best edge.

The difference between American and European Roulette is that the American one comes with a 0 and a 00, making it a roulette with 38 numbers on the wheel (0-36 + 00). American Roulette only has a 0, making it a roulette with 37 numbers on the wheel (0-36). Even though it may not sound like a big deal, the truth is that the double zero (00) in American Roulette gives the house a higher edge over the player, and the player has less chances of getting paid than in European Roulette.

In American Roulette the odds of any given number coming up are 37 to 1, whereas in European Roulette the odds are 36 to 1. This means that the house edge on American Roulette is 5.26%, in contrast with a 2.7% house edge in European Roulette. For every $100 that you play on American Roulette you will lose $5.26, and for the same amount played on European Roulette you will only lose $2.7.

The good news is that you can find European Roulette and American Roulette at almost every casino. The fact that they are called “American” and “European” versions of roulette does not mean that they are only found in those geographical locations. Most brick and mortar casinos in the United States and in Europe offer both versions of the game and you just need to keep an eye open once you are there. When it comes to online gaming, it is a lot easier because most casinos offer both and you can just access them from the casino lobby in one click.

If you have any questions or comments about European and American roulette, feel free to post them as comments below and Silver Oak Casino will do the best to answer all of your concerns. I hope you found this article helpful and feel free to make suggestions too. Good luck at the tables!

With his 1995 film Casino, director Martin Scorsese made one of the most famous movies in history about Las Vegas and the world of casinos and gambling. And now he’s returning to similar territory with a new HBO series called “Boardwalk Empire”. This time he’ll look at the early days of Atlantic City back when it was the most popular hotspot in the country for gamblers and gangsters. And even better, the show will star the always awesome Steve Buscemi. He plays a sleazy politician/gangster named Nucky Thompson.

Taking place in the 1920s during the thirsty days of Prohibition, the show will document the evolution of Atlantic City from a quiet family resort on the New Jersey shore, to the hotbed of gambling and sin that it became (and still remains to some degree). Other famous characters of the time, like the gangster Al Capone, will make appearances on the show and it will apparently strive for an incredible level of historical accuracy in the sets and costumes.

Nobody can make that world as fun and exciting as Scorsese, so it will be a hoot to watch the new show. And if you’ve ever visited Atlantic City, it should be cool to see the early days of the town, just like it’s fun to watch Casino and see just how much Las Vegas has changed from the seedy 1970s to today.

Whether or not you’ve ever visited Atlantic City or Las Vegas, or even seen Casino, you’re going to have a great time playing in our online casino right here at Silver Oak.

On my first trip to Las Vegas, I did what a lot of people do – I only played slot machines, video poker and a few spins of Roulette, and avoided everything else. The other games all looked confusing, the players surrounding them were intimidating and the dealers looked like they’d rather give up their tips for a year than help out a beginner player. But on my second trip, a friend introduced me to Sic Bo by saying “it’s as easy as Roulette, but with more chances for big wins,” and I spent most of the next two days with my eyes glued to those three bouncing dice.

Of course, now that you can play all your favorite games online, the intimidation factor is gone anyway. But all the things that make Sic Bo great still exist – how incredibly easy it is to learn, how many different types of bets and odds you can play, and those nice big payouts my friend promised me. When you play Sic Bo here at Silver Oak, you can learn about all the different kinds of bets right here. And as far as the game mechanics go, they’ll take about two seconds to learn. All you have to do is click on a chip to decide how much to bet, then click on the table to place your bets wherever you want. Once you’ve placed all your bets, click to roll the dice, then wait a second to see if you guessed right.

Like with Roulette, when you play Sic Bo, it’s fun to spread your bets around. I like to place a few bets with pretty low odds, but a higher frequency of winning, and then a couple longshot bets, that have a nice, big payout. I almost always place a small bet the dice will come up “2, 2, 2″, for example. I don’t hit it all that often, but when I do the payout is 180:1, so my $2 bet wins me $360! Hopefully you’ll like Sic Bo as much as I do. To give it a shot, find it in the games menu under “Specialty Games”. Or if you’re new to Silver Oak, download our free software right now:

Over the last few weeks I have explained how some of the most popular roulette systems in the world are used by professional gamblers every day. If you want to learn how to use these systems yourself, check out the articles on the Labouchere Roulette System, the Reverse Labouchere Roulette System, the Three Two Roulette System, the Martingale Roulette System, the D’Alembert Roulette System, and the Andrucci Roulette System.

Now that we have seen how all of these different systems work, we put 2 of the most popular ones to the test- the Reverse Labouchere System and the Martingale System. Can they really break the bank? Let’s Find Out!

The Reverse Labouchere Roulette System

Of these systems, the most famous is probably the Reverse Labouchere system. This system was used by Norman Leigh and 12 companions to break the bank of the Casino Municipale in Nice back in 1966. This true story was later chronicled in the book “Thirteen Against the Bank”, written by Norman Leigh. Check out the book on Amazon.

Norman claims that the system alone was the key to his resounding roulette success. In fact, Norman and his cohorts won so much money that they were banned from all casinos in France for the rest of their lives. The story in the book has driven many a gambler to use the Reverse Labouchere system to try and beat the house. It worked for Norman, but can it really make you millions of dollars at the roulette table?

The Martingale Roulette System

The Martingale Roulette System is perhaps the most commonly used betting system in all of gambling. Its simplicity, promises of winnings at the end of every round, and its ability to be applied to bets in a variety of different games has lead to its enormous popularity. But does it really win you money at the roulette table?

Testing The Roulette Systems

To test the roulette systems, we will be using a roulette simulator developed by Woodger Computing. James Woodger was kind enough to let us use his company’s software for the purposes of this test.

To really put these systems to the test, we are using the following methodology:

Each roulette system will go through 10,000,000 simulated spins to ensure a good sample size.

The simulated table limit will be $10,000. This is rather high, but it gives the systems a chance to work, and these limits CAN be found in the high roller rooms at many casinos.

The simulations will use the North American rules (the table has both 0 and 00 green squares on the roulette wheel). Using these rules, the house advantage is 5.26%

To understand what each results field means, take a look at the complete results explanation from the Woodger Software website.

Without further ado, let’s put these roulette systems to the test!

Reverse Labouchere Roulette System Results

As we can see from the graphic above, using the Reverse Labouchere Roulette System over 10,000,000 spins produced results (4.97% loss) only slightly above the house advantage of 5.26%. Based on these results, the famous Reverse Labouchere Roulette System should not win the player any money over the long run.

Martingale Roulette System Results

After 10,000,000 spins, it appears that the Martingale Roulette System performed worse than the Reverse Labouchere System AND worse than the normal house advantage, coming in at a lose rate of 5.61%. After 10 million spins, starting with a $5 bet, you would lose a total of close to $20 million according to the simulation! You also would have wagered over $341 million, so I guess $20 mil isn’t that bad if you have this kind of money to burn.

Finally, lets take a look at what would happen if we made a straight bet of $5 on every spin using no system whatsoever. According to the laws of statistics, we should come extremely close to, if not directly on, the house advantage of 5.26%.

Straight Roulette Bet Results

As expected, over the long term, the straight roulette bets end up losing at a rate of 5.25%, extremely close to the predicted 5.26%. According to the simulation, simply making straight $5 bets will beat the Martingale System, but lose out to the Labouchere System.

According to these simulations, none of the systems can beat the casino. However, the big limitation of the Martingale System is the maximum bet allowed on the table. If a player has basically infinite money, and an extremely high table limit, would he be able to beat the casino over the long term? Lets find out!

Martingale System No Restrictions Results

To test how much of an effect the table limit has on the Martingale system, I kept the same parameters as above, except I raised the table limit to $100 million. Lets take a look at the results:

Well look at that! Over 10 million spins, the Martingale System would make you an estimated $23,000,000+ profit! All you have to do to achieve these results is make sure you have a starting bankroll of hundreds of millions of dollars, and find a casino that will let you play roulette with a table limit of $100,000,000. If you can pull this off and want to bring me along, please let me know.

Roulette System Test Conclusion

After putting the systems through the test, it looks like over the long run, none of the systems can really help you beat the casino. However, if you can get lucky, playing with these system can show you some short term wins, you just need to know when to quit!

There are still thousands of players who swear by these systems and have indeed had success using them. Just check out Norm Leigh’s book to see a great example of that. Also, in extreme situations we have seen that the Martingale system can work over the long run; you just need an enormous bankroll and a casino that will let you make extraordinary bets at the roulette table.

Over the last several weeks we have explained many of the roulette systems used in casinos around the world. So far, all of these roulette systems have been fairly simple and not very customizable. If you enjoyed those systems but are now looking to dig your teeth into an advanced roulette system that allows for a great deal of flexibility, I have you covered right here.

The Labouchere Roulette System Basics

Like many roulette systems, the Labouchere System is best used for bets on “50/50″ opportunities in roulette, such as wagering on Red, Black, Even, Odd, 1st 18, or 2nd 18.

The Labouchere Roulette System is a “line” system, meaning you use a line of numbers to calculate your next bet. This line of numbers can be anything you want really, but to explain the basics of the Labouchere Roulette system, it is best to start with a simple line and then move to more advanced tactics.

The Labouchere Line

Here is an example of a simple Labouchere line:

1 2 3 4

Ok, now that we have our line ready, what does it mean and what do we do with it?

Each number on the line represents a betting unit. A betting unit is the minimum allowed bet on the table. For example, at a table with a minimum bet of $5, each betting unit would be worth $5. Going back to our line above, the number 1 represents $5, the number 2 represents $10, the number 3 represents $15, and so on.

Making a Bet Using the Labouchere System

Now that we have our Labouchere line, and we know how much each betting unit is worth, we are ready to make a bet using the system.

To make a bet, simply add the first and last numbers of the line together, and place a bet of that many betting units. Let’s use our numbers from above to look at an example.

Here is our Labouchere line: 1 2 3 4

We take the first and last numbers from the line, and add them together ( 1 + 4 = 5 betting units ).

We make a bet of 5 units ( 5 units x $5 per unit = $25 bet ).

What To Do When Your Bet Loses

When your bet loses, do the following:

Remember the number of betting units you wagered on the losing bet ( we wagered 5 units in the example above).

Add this number to the Labouchere line.

The new line looks like this: 1 2 3 4 5 (there is now a 5 added to the original line).

Once you have your new line, you make your next bet in the same way:

Here is our NEW Labouchere line: 1 2 3 4 5

We take the first and last numbers from the line, and add them together ( 1 + 5 = 6 betting units ).

We make a bet of 6 units ( 6 units x $5 per unit = $30 bet ).

What To Do When Your Bet Wins

When your bet wins, do the following:

Cross out the first and last numbers on your Labouchere line. The original line was 1 2 3 4. When we cross off the first and last numbers, the new Labouchere line looks like this: X 2 3 X. Now there are only two numbers left in the line, 2 and 3.

Start over using the Labouchere roulette system with your NEW line. Since the new line only has the numbers 2 and 3, we use these as our new numbers.

Add the first and last numbers of our new line ( 2 + 3 = 5 ).

Finally, make a bet using this number of betting units ( 5 betting units x $5 = $25 ).

When you have no more numbers left, you have completed the line!

The Logic Behind The Labouchere System

The idea behind the Labouchere Roulette System is that when you complete a line, your total winnings will equal the total number of betting units you put on the line. To use our numbers above as an example, when you complete a line of 1 2 3 4, you will win a total of ( 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10 ) betting units. If you are playing with betting units of $5, this would be a neat $50 profit just by finishing this simple line!

Making Your Own Labouchere Roulette System Line

One great thing about the Labouchere System is that it is completely customizable to your roulette betting needs. For example, if you want to have a short, aggressive roulette session, just make your Labouchere line short with large betting unit numbers (EG 4 6 8 10 ).

If longer, less risky roulette games are your thing, simply make the Labouchere line long with small betting unit numbers (EG 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 2 ).

What would happen if you sold your house, car, and all of your other worldly possessions, flew to Las Vegas, and put it all on one single bet on Red at the roulette table?

If that sounds like complete insanity to you, you’re right. It would take someone with either balls of steel or half of their frontal cortex missing to actually execute such a stunt. Who would do such a thing? See the video below and find out!

Fools Gold

Since the invention of high stakes roulette, magicians have used it to wow onlookers, a handful of extremely smart people have successfully exploited the system to make it rich, and countless idiots have gone double-or-nothing with their life’s possessions. Whether these people won or lost in life, their adventures in gambling have earned them at least one thing: a spot on our list of the most bad ass roulette bets of all time.

David Blaine Is A Winner

Whether you are impressed or just puzzled by his various stunts, David Blaine pulls off some pretty dumbfounding magic tricks. Well, I’m not really sure if sitting in a block of ice or holding your breath for 10 minutes is technically “magic”, but it is pretty amazing nonetheless.

While some of these death defying stunts are cool, none of them would be more useful in my daily life than this one. Watch the video below as David Blaine wins a couple of lucky ladies $3,200 on a few roulette bets.

How the hell did he do that?

Chriss Angel Is A Roulette Bad Ass

The magician Chriss Angel is well known for doing ridiculous tricks where he is able to read people’s minds, predict the future, and all sorts of other equally creepy stuff. When it comes to roulette though, this one takes the cake. It’s tough to tell if this was just completely random luck or some stroke of psychic genius, but watch as Chriss Angel wins almost $900 with one $25 bet at the roulette table:

Why It Pays To Be An Engineer

In 1873 an engineer named Joseph Jaggers was intrigued by the game of roulette. He wasn’t intrigued by playing the game itself, but by the fact that he thought he could beat it, and become a rich man in the process.

Over the course of a week, Mr. Jaggers paid several roulette croupiers (dealers) to keep track of every single number the roulette ball landed on for 6 different roulette wheels at the Monte Carlo casino. After crunching the numbers, Joseph discovered that one roulette wheel seemed to be biased toward one set of outcomes.

Taking his month’s check to the casino, he sat down at the biased roulette wheel and proceeded to bet his money on the 9 numbers he found to come up more often than the rest. After several days of betting at the biased wheel, Mr. Jaggers walked away from the casino $325,000 richer (a huge sum of money in 1873).

Laser Beams = Roulette Riches

In 2004 two Serbian men and a pair of Hungarian women used a system of lasers, cellphones, and computers to predict which number the roulette ball would land on at the Ritz casino in England. While it was not an exact science, it was able to narrow the odds from 1 in 38 to 1 in 6… not bad.

After two days of laser beaming the roulette wheel, the 4 casino scammers walked out the door with over 1.2 million pounds. Not too shabby for a couple days of work.

Feeling taken advantage of, the casino attempted to sue the newly rich roulette players for tampering with the game. The judge ruled that since they did nothing to physically influence the game, the casino didn’t have a leg to stand on. They were let off scott free with their winnings.

No Guts, No Glory, No Green?

Also in 2004 (apparently a big year for roulette), a British chap named Ashley Revell decided it would be a brilliant idea to sell his house, car, and all worldly possessions for the opportunity to put $135,300 on Red in a game of roulette.

While everyone was telling him he was insane (YOU’RE INSANE!), Ashley paid no mind and bought a ticket to Las Vegas with nothing but the clothes on his back and a fat wad of cash to put down on the roulette table.

What happened to Ol’ Ashley? Take a look at this video and find out!

But they’re not there to enjoy the sun, nightlife and excitement of the Strip. Instead, they’re turning the Venetian into a TV studio for the perennial hit show.

They’re midway through four days of shooting episodes of America’s favorite game show. Half the Vegas episodes will air in September, while the other half will take advantage of the romantic side of Sin City and air around Valentine’s Day.

And Las Vegas does seem like an appropriate venue, for the show that blends a little bit of skill, with a little bit of luck, as contestants try to guess letters and spell their way to a nice, big prize. And speaking of giant wheels that you can spin your way to big prizes, care to try a little Roulette, in our online casino?

As with most casino games played by millions of people around the world, Roulette has its own body of myths which keep players guessing. Can experienced roulette croupiers (dealers) really control where the ball is going to land? Are roulette wheels really biased in a way that players can exploit? Read on and find out!

Does the Roulette Dealer Control Your Fate?

There are many reports of roulette croupiers claiming to be able to “call their shot” on the roulette wheel, controlling the final destination of the roulette ball. If true, roulette dealers could make a bad tipper lose, or make all of his friends and family rich with a few flicks of the wrist. But is this possible?

Unless the roulette dealer has some kind of comic book type power, it is highly unlikely. If you watch a casino roulette wheel in action, you’ll notice that the wheel is spun in one direction, then the roulette dealers quickly flicks the ball in the opposite direction at a high velocity. The ball then spins around the wheel several dozen times before finding its final resting place.

Precisely controlling the destination of the ball after those several dozen spins is most likely impossible.

But what if the roulette dealer just spins the ball more slowly, wouldn’t it be easier to control?

Well, yes, it probably would be a little easier to aim the ball at a lower velocity. However, in most gambling jurisdictions, there are rules in place that require the roulette dealer to spin the ball at a minimum speed that prevents the ball from being controlled in any way.

Is the Roulette Wheel Biased?

When roulette wheels were first invented, they were all made by hand. They were manufactured this way for many decades before a mechanically precise manner for manufacturing the wheels was developed. Just like with anything that is hand made, the original roulette wheels were not 100% perfect and displayed biases. Furthermore, after many years of use, roulette wheels could develop minor defects that could influence their impartiality.

In 1873, a British engineer named Joseph Jaggers discovered a bias in one of the roulette wheels at the Monte Carlo casino. He noticed through a statistical analysis of thousands of results from the wheels at the Monte Carlo that one wheel landed on a set of 9 numbers far more often than it should. After a week of exploiting this flaw in the wheel, Joseph Jaggers walked away from the Monte Carlo with nearly $400,000… an enormous amount of money for 1873!

So how can you find your own biased wheel to exploit? Unfortunately, they no longer exist. Today’s manufacturing techniques are far more precise than they were in Mr. Jaggers’ day, and modern roulette wheels go through extensive testing before ever leaving the factory. Furthermore, if a roulette wheel is suspected of being biased, it is quickly removed from the casino floor and checked before putting back in action.

Recently we have explained some of the most famous roulette systems used by gamblers across the globe including the Andrucci Roulette System, the D’Alembert Roulette System, and the Martingale Roulette System. Some of these systems are fairly complicated and involve tracking past spins, chaos theory, and more. If you are a roulette beginner or just want a fun and easy system to mix things up with, the Three Two Roulette System is just your ticket.

Three Two Roulette System

The goal of the Three Two Roulette System is to cover as much of the roulette table as possible, while keeping the bets as simple and efficient as possible. In fact, once you understand how this system works, you can cover nearly 70% of the roulette table with only two bets!

The Three Two Roulette System gets its name from the fact that the two bets you place on every spin are one of three units and one of two units. The key to making the system work for you is knowing the unique combination of bets that cover the greatest number of squares in the most efficient way possible.

How To Use The Three Two Roulette System

To put the Three Two Roulette System into action you just have to make one of two combinations of bets:

Wager 2 units on the roulette table’s second column and three units on red.

Wager 2 units on the roulette table’s third column and three units on black.

Why one of these combinations? The secret lies in the layout of the roulette table. Let’s take a look:

Notice that the second column has 8 black squares and only 4 red squares. Likewise, the third column has 8 red squares and only has 4 black squares. Therefor, by placing a bet on the second column and a bet on red, you are able to cover nearly 70% of the board. The same also applies if you make a wager on the third column and on black.

So why make a 2 unit bet on the column and a 3 unit bet on the color? Well, since the column bets pay out 2 to 1 and the color bets pay out 1 to 1, a winning 2 unit bet on the column will cover the 3 units lost on the color, plus net the player 1 unit of winnings. The same applies if the color bet wins but the column bet loses. The big money is won when both bets end up winning, netting the player a huge 7 unit profit! However, when both bets lose, the player is down 5 units.

Does The Three Two Roulette System Work?

Well, it depends on your definition of success. Using this strategy will keep you in the middle of the action on pretty much every spin of the wheel. It is a great strategy to use in combination with other roulette strategies to keep things interesting, or a great way to break a long losing streak (you’ll win something about 70% of the time!).

Statistically speaking, however, the odds of making money using this strategy over the long term are no different than making any other roulette bet. While this strategy may not make you rich, it is a fun way to spice up your roulette game if it’s getting stale.

Final Thoughts

Try this strategy out, then come back here and tell me how you did. Did you go on a hot streak or did the strategy fall flat? Let me know in the comment section below!

If you are an avid gambler or fan of gambling systems in general, you have probably heard of the Martingale betting system. The Martingale system is popular not just for roulette, but also for many other forms of gambling. If you like making bets on anything form sports to roulette, the Martingale system is gambling 101 that will serve you well throughout your gambling career.

How The Martingale Roulette System Works

The beauty of the Martingale system lies in its pure simplicity. The paradigm of the Martingale system is this: if you make a bet and win, pocket your winnings and let your original bet ride; if you make a bet and lose, make a new bet that is double the original bet, and if you win, you recoup your original loss plus win some.

Keep in mind that when using the Martingale system in any betting situation, you want to wager on something that has about a 50/50 chance of winning. In roulette, the wagers that have about a 50/50 chance of winning include betting on Red, Black, 1-18, 19-36, Even, or Odd. So, when using this system, make sure you wager on one of those 6 bets.

Let’s look at an example to make it a bit more clear how the Martingale Roulette System works:

You make a bet of $5 on any of the 50/50 wagers above.

If you win, pocket your $5 in winnings, and keep your original $5 bet on the table.

If you lose, you are now down $5. For your next wager, bet $10. This way, if you win, you will recoup your original $5 bet that you lost, plus you will win $5 extra. Also, if you win, start again with your original $5 bet.

Keep repeating the cycle above.

The Risks of the Martingale Roulette System

As you can see above, every time that you lose a bet, you have to double your wager on the next turn. If you go one a long losing streak, you run a serious risk of going broke. Also, if the roulette table you are playing on has a limit to how much you can bet at a time, once you hit the maximum, the jig is up and you have to cut your losses.

To give you an idea of how quickly the losses can mount when using the Martingale Roulette System, let’s look at an example. Let’s say you start with the same $5 bet used in the example above. If you go on a losing streak and lose 8 times in a row, your next bet will have to be $2,560. While some people may be able to make one-time bets that large on roulette, the average gambler can’t swing that kind of cash.

Does the Martingale Roulette System Really Work?

Well, as we saw in the examples above, players can see nice gains over the short term. However, players can quickly run into dangerous grounds if they go on a relatively short losing streak. So the martingale roulette system can definitely work in the player’s favor until he hits that dreaded losing streak.

Final Thoughts

Have you used the Martingale Roulette System with any success? Do you use another system that works better for you? Let me know in the comment section below!

Roulette Systems

Last week I outlined one of the most popular roulette systems used today- the Andrucci Roulette System. That system is based on chaos theory, predicting that over the short term, some numbers will come up more often than others. The system works by the player identifying these numbers and then betting that they will continue to win.

Proponents of the D’Alembert System say that is all garbage.

D’Alembert Roulette System

When roulette first became popular in Western Europe in the 18th century, people scrambled to create a system that could beat the roulette wheel. Out of this roulette gold rush came a simple “negative progression” system that many people still use to this day.

Mathematician Jean le Rond D’Alembert invented this roulette system based on the idea that over the long run, all of the numbers will come up an equal number of times. Therefore, he theorized, if you make a bet and win, chances are the next spin will be a loser, and vice versa. With this in mind, Mr. D’Alembert came to the conclusion that if you bet less after a win and bet more after a loss, you will capitalize on this “law of probabilities” for massive profits!

How to use the D’Alembert Roulette System

To use the D’Alembert Roulette System, you first have to have a roulette game to play. Download a free one from Silver Oak Casino here:

Before we get to the step by step guide to this roulette system, you have to keep the following rules in mind when using the D’Alembert System:

Always start with a medium sized wager. A medium sized wager means you should be able to take chips off of the bet several times while still having something left. For example, if you are playing at a $1 minimum table, a bet of $20 would allow you to remove $1 chips from your bet 19 times before you cannot remove anymore chips. This would be a good medium sized bet. If you want to play with more significant stakes, start with a slightly larger wager and add or subtract $5 at a time.

When using this system, make sure to only place wagers on the 50/50 “outside bets” such as Red, Black, Even, Odd, 1st 18, or 2nd 18. The D’Alembert Roulette System only works using these bets.

Once you decide on what you want to bet on (red, black, etc), make sure to bet on the exact same thing for the entire game. This is important.

To try out the D’Alembert roulette system for yourself, follow these steps:

Start by deciding the denomination you will be adding and subtracting to your bet after each win or loss. This is important because the amount you add or remove has to be consistent for the system to work.

Place a medium sized bet on your favorite 50/50 outside bet (see above).

If you win, remove the amount you decided on (step 1) from your bet. If you lose, add the amount you decided on to your bet.

Wager this on the exact same thing you bet on in step 2.

To continue playing with the system, simply repeat steps 3 and 4 for your entire roulette session.

Does the D’Alembert Roulette System Really Work?

Well, in theory it sounds nice. Every time you win, you bet less on the next wager so if you lose, you lose less than you won on the first wager. Since the system takes into account your entire wagering history, you should always stay in positive territory, right?

There are a couple of problems with the system, however. First of all, the system assumes that the bet you are making on red, black, etc. is actually a 50/50 bet. However, because there is a green 0 square (and a green 00 square in American Roulette), the bet is not actually 50/50… it is actually a 48.65/48.65/2.7 bet. This mean that even if the system works flawlessly, the casino will still take 2.7% of your wagers over time.

The second problem with the system is the idea that if your bet wins the first time, it is more likely to lose the next time. In reality, every spin of the roulette wheel is a completely independent event, and past spins have no effect on future spins. In other words, if your bet wins the first time, it is just as likely to win the second time, and the third time, etc.

One of Europe’s biggest low-budget airlines has a new plan to offer in-flight gambling on their planes. RyanAir is said to be considering an online casino partner to provide the expertise and software to provide a variety of real-money games to their passengers. And, according to company sources, the move might even put an end to the need to charge people to fly!

They’ve never been a company to shy away from controversial ideas…or attention-seeking headlines. Their advertising is edgy at times, including the creation of a calendar featuring scantily clad flight attendants. The company is also well known for doing anything to generate more revenue, from charging fees for every checked bag, to requiring customers wanting to lodge a complaint to pay to call their customer service line. So the idea of generating revenue from passenger gaming doesn’t seem too unlikely.

Of course, for those who love gambling, it seems like an idea who’s time has come. In-flight movies and videogames may be nice, but wouldn’t it be great to enjoy a drink and some Roulette, while jetting off to Barcelona for the weekend? In the meantime, if you love online casino games, but can’t wait for your next flight on RyanAir, then jet on into our casino. To get started, just hit:
