An intimidating game for a beginner, craps appears to have about 100 different kinds of bets and they all are complex. When you walk up to a craps table, there are endless commands being shouted and bets being placed. In order to even have a chance, you’ll need the very best craps strategy.

The Best Craps Strategy
The best craps strategy starts with a very simple rule – always make a passline bet. This is the number one bet that most players are making with the craps game and if you make the passline bet, you’ll be able to get into the game and understand what is going on without taking too huge of a risk.

Many of the bets with craps rely on a single roll of the dice and many rely on multiple rolls of the dice. Of course, it’s easier to keep up with the single roll of the dice bets rather than the multiple rolls, but after a few rounds, you’ll start understanding how the game is played and the betting system will feel much more natural.

Take the Pass Bet
The most fundamental bet of the best craps strategy is the pass bet. This is the most common bet and virtually all players make the pass bet for the game. The pass bet is simply a bet that says the dice will make it pass the line on a come out roll, or the first roll. Once you place the bet, you’re simply waiting for the numbers. If the come out roll lands on 2, 3 or 12 you lose. If the dice add up to any other number, you win.

The roller then continues to roll until she either gets a 7 or hits the same point number again. If she hits a 7 first, you lose. If she hits the same point number you win even more money.

A difficult game to understand, Craps involves throwing the dice a certain number of times, with multiple opportunities to bet. The best craps strategy is to place your bets to minimize the house odds.

Pass Line Bet
The first bet a player should make in a good craps strategy is on the come out roll. A pass line bet is reasonably safe as the house only has a 1.41 percent advantage. You can also do a don’t pass bet where the house has only a 1.36 percent advantage, but you risk upsetting the roller by betting against him.

Odds Bet
Once the come out roll is done, the best bet in your craps strategy is on the odds bet. This bet will be a multiple of your pass line bet, usually two times. This is a great bet to make because it pays out at true odds, leaving the house with no natural advantage. A excellent strategy in a craps strategy is to always take advantage of these neutral odds and use the odds bet. By combining the pass line bet and the Odds bet, you’ve reduced the house advantage to 0.61 percent – as good as odds as you can hope for at the craps table.

Bad Craps Strategy
There are some bets that are considered poor choices in a craps strategy. One of these is the Big Six bet. On this bet, the house has an advantage of 9.1 percent. In this strategy you’re hoping that a six will be rolled before a seven, but the huge advantage of the house on that particular bet makes it a terrible choice in craps strategy.

Other bad betting strategies include the Big 8, the Hard 4 and the Hard 10. These offer the house advantages of 9.1 to 11 or more percent respectively.

One of the most exciting game in the casino, Craps involves two dice on a table designed for the game. Don’t think that it’s a simple numbers game because it’s that and much, much more.

A craps table has room for twenty players, but not all of them have to roll, or shoot, the dice. In fact, to start a game, only one person needs to make a bet before the dice are rolled and the action begins. There are two phases in each round of play. In the first the shooter makes one or more “Come Out” rolls to start the game. This is after the betters have placed bets in the Pass Line or the Don’t Pass Line.

If the shooter rolls a 2, 3 or 12, the shooter has “Craps” and bets on the Pall Line are lost. If the shooter rolls a 7 or 11, it’s called a Natural and the Pass Line bets are deemed winners. Once the shooter rolls a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, the number is called the Point and the Stickman (the casino employee in charge of the game table) will move an On button or marker to the number and the game moves to the next point.

In the “Point” phase, the shooter rolls again. If he rolls the point number, the bets on the Pass Line win. If the shooter instead rolls a seven, it’s called a Seven-out and the bets on the Pass Line lose and the round is complete. If the shooter doesn’t make Point or if he rolls a seven, the round is over and the dice are passed to the next person around the table. If the shooter does make Point, he starts another round with a Come Out roll to start the cycle again.

Online casino software developers have loved the possibility to bring their platforms to a mobile screen in all corners of the world. They have already launched many versions of their software that is compatible with mobile phones, however they are now engaging in new plans for one of the newest mobile gaming technological development: the Android.

The Android is a mobile operating system that was originally developed by Android Inc. and bought by Google in 2005. This apparatus extends the functionality of mobile devices and has been a huge addition to the mobile technology industry. This smart phone has become a favorite among online gamblers because of its functionality and high quality features.

Even though online software developers only recently finalized projects to bring online gaming platforms to the Android 2.2, they are already getting ready to do the same for the newest version of the phone: Android 3.0. This means that if you already have an Android 2.2 you should be about ready to start enjoying a lot of your favorite casinos comfortably from your phone. It also means that if you are planning to get the newest version you will get a lot of new features.

Last week, Android introduced the 3.0 version at the Consumers Electronics Show (CES) and announced the most innovative 3D features to be in place. Online casinos are already setting up 3D gaming and software developers are beyond excited for the opportunity of bringing this new reality to your mobile screens. There is a lot to be excited about in terms of technology as now enjoying your favorite online casino games is as easy as taking your phone out and logging into a world of fun wherever you are.

Last week one of our readers requested a specific topic which was how to improve bankroll management by knowing the house edge of most online casino games. In order to address that issue I have compiled a list of the house edge for the most common casino games along with a few recommendations on how to improve your winnings.

Just to be a little clearer, the house edge refers to the advantage that the house (i.e. the casino) has in a game. This means that if the house edge is 1%, there is a chance that you will lose $1 for every $100 bet.

The games that I recommend to players who want to increase their bankroll and make more money are the following:

1. Blackjack: This game has the lowest house edge of all casino games and it is 0.5%. The key to Blackjack is knowing the basic strategy upside down.
2. European Roulette: Unlike American Roulette, European Roulette only comes with one zero, reducing the house edge to a 2.7%.
3. Craps: This game also has one of the lowest house edges and it is 1.41%. Craps is actually a lot easier to play than what it looks and if you want to make money you might want to try it.
4. Baccarat. This is a very popular game as the house edge is only 1.63% and it offers great returns.
5. Pai Gow: Some players avoid Pai Gow as it can seem rather complicated but it is a goldmine with a house edge of 2.73% if you are the player and 0.20% if you are the banker. Combined, the house edge is 1.46%.

Those are the games that I recommend you start playing if you want to make some decent money at your favorite casino. Sometimes online casinos offer variations of these games with different odds, so you should be attemptive and make sure you are playing the original version of them.

If you want to know which games you should stay away from, come back tomorrow as I will be writing on the negative side of house edge.

Craps is a game that can intimidate players at first sight. I know this because it took me more than a year to decide to give it a try, before it just seemed like an alien game that only some people played. Something that can be extremely intimidating is the multitude of bets available on the craps table when you start out, but all you need to do is focus mainly on the few common types of bets.

Even if you are absolutely new to the game and everything seems like foreign land, there is no way that you cannot get around if you just take a look at the basic rules of craps. Any book or video with the basics of craps will be good enough to get you through your first encounters with the game.

However, I also want to give you some tips as to how to make the right moves when you have just started playing. The easiest and most common bet in craps is the Pass Line bet and you can make this bet before the come-out roll or anytime before the point has been established.

A recommendation is to never, NEVER, bet on the Don’t Pass Line, though it is a simple bet it is easy to track and the odds are on the bettor’s side. Always bet on the Pass Line and after doing this you can take “odds”.

From there, I would suggest that you always, ALWAYS, take odds because when you take the odds on the Pass Line bet you are playing with the lowest house edge and it is adviceable to bet at least 5 times your Pass Line bets on the Odds.

And finally, I recommend that you avoid the Horn bets. I know that the payout (30:1) sounds fantastic but the odds of two sixes being thrown on any given roll are 36:1 so you would only be giving the house a huge advantage. This is the same for all Horn bets so just stay away from them, there is no money for you there in the long run.

The best tip that I can give for craps is to take it easy. It is not complicated at all, though I recognize the table may seem daunting, so you should be able to find your way around it and make some moeny if you follow these simple tips.

Taking place in the 1920s during the thirsty days of Prohibition, the show will document the evolution of Atlantic City from a quiet family resort on the New Jersey shore, to the hotbed of gambling and sin that it became (and still remains to some degree). Other famous characters of the time, like the gangster Al Capone, will make appearances on the show and it will apparently strive for an incredible level of historical accuracy in the sets and costumes.

Nobody can make that world as fun and exciting as Scorsese, so it will be a hoot to watch the new show. And if you’ve ever visited Atlantic City, it should be cool to see the early days of the town, just like it’s fun to watch Casino and see just how much Las Vegas has changed from the seedy 1970s to today.

Whether or not you’ve ever visited Atlantic City or Las Vegas, or even seen Casino, you’re going to have a great time playing in our online casino right here at Silver Oak.
The sea can be an angry, dangerous place to try to make a living. But when you play Sea Captain, you’re at the top of the food chain, and the critters of the sea are the ones who have to worry. You’ll be reeling in fish, trapping crabs, catching squids and (hopefully) making money hand over fist.

This online slot machine is a fun and light-hearted look at life asea. But unlike the real life of a fisherman, reeling in some loot on this machine doesn’t require any hard work or early mornings. You can sit back, relax and let the fish, and prizes, come to you. Sea Captain has lots of ways to let you land the big catch. Look for Squids, the substitute symbol in this game. Not only will they help you hit the big payouts by substituting for other symbols, they’ll also double the prize when they appear in a winning combo. Find three or more Sea Captains and you’ll receive 7 free spins in the bonus round. But if your luck is anything like mine, those 7 free spins could turn into a lot more – every time you land another Sea Captain on a bonus spin, you get another free game.

Sea Captain also features a random, progressive jackpot, and all the advanced features, like Autoplay and Turboplay that make it easy to play online slots just the way you like to. So scrape off those barnacles and ready the nets…it’s time to hit the docks and head out for a big day of fishing.

The 4th installment of the Craps Strategy Guide series covers the Don’t Pass bet, otherwise known as The Pass Line‘s evil twin. Why does betting on Don’t Pass get such a bad rap? Read on and find out!

How to Bet on Don’t Pass

Simply place your wager in the area of the craps table highlighted below in orange:

A bet on Don’t Pass looks like this:

When to Bet on Don’t Pass

The way a bet is placed on Don’t Pass is very similar to the way it is played on the Pass Line. Bets can only be placed on Don’t Pass before the first roll of a turn. After it is placed, it will remain in play until the end of the turn.

What is a Don’t Pass Bet?

By placing a wager on Don’t Pass , you are betting that the roller will roll craps (2, 3, or 12) on the first roll of the turn or that he will roll a 7 after a point is established. In effect, betting on Don’t Pass is equivalent to betting that any wagers on the Pass Line will LOSE.

Lets go through a full turn to make it a little more clear how this works. After placing a bet on Don’t Pass , one of four things can happen on the first roll of the turn:

You WIN if a 2 or 3 is rolled (the roller “craps out”)

You LOSE if a 7 or 11 is rolled

You PUSH (ties) if a 12 is rolled

You GO TO THE NEXT STAGE if anything else is rolled (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10)

The Next Stage

If a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 is rolled, a point is established, and the game continues. As an example, lets say the first roll of the game is a 10:

In this situation, one of 2 things can happen:

You WIN if a 7 is rolled before a 10

You LOSE if a 10 is rolled before a 7

As you can see, a Don’t Pass bet WIN whenever a wager on the Pass Line would LOSE, hence the name.

Why Make Don’t Pass Bets

Don’t Pass bets are one of the highest odds bets in craps. Once a point is established, the odds are in favor of the Don’t Pass bets over bets on the Pass Line. No matter which point is established, it is more likely that a 7 will be rolled before the number which is “ON”.

For example, lets say a 10 comes up on the first roll of a new turn, as in the example above. The number of ways a 7 can be rolled outweigh the number of ways a 10 can be rolled. Specifically, there are 6 different number combinations that can be rolled to total 7 (1-6, 2-5, 3-4, 4-3, 5-2, 6-1), while there are only 3 ways the dice can come up with a 10 (4-6, 5-5, 6-4).

Other than a 7, rolling either a 6 or an 8 are the next most likely. There are 5 ways to roll either a 6 or an 8, which is still less likely than rolling a 7. As you can see, even with the point “ON” a 6 or an 8, the odds are still in favor of a Don’t Pass bet over a wager on the Pass Line.

Don’t Pass Odds

Odds can be placed on a Don’t Pass bet any time after a point has been established. Just like all other Odds Bets, odds put on a Don’t Pass wager have no advantage to the casino. As always, if you can afford it, put as much money as possible on odds bets for the highest payouts. For more on the subject, see the lesson on Craps Odds Bets.

To put an odds bet on your Don’t Pass wager, simply place a chip in the area highlighted below:

Final Thoughts

As always, I recommend downloading a free craps game to gain some confidence betting on Don’t Pass before trying the real thing.

Going back to the introduction, I said that the Don’t Pass bet is like the Pass Line’s evil twin. I say this because more often than not, people playing craps in a casino will place bets exclusively on the Pass Line and will be rooting for the shooter to not roll a 7 once a point has been established. If you choose to bet on Don’t Pass, you will be forced to root for the shooter to roll a 7 and everyone to lose on their Pass Line bets.

Don’t expect to make any friends betting on Don’t Pass in a casino. The advantage of playing online is that you can throw as many bets as you want on a high odds Don’t Pass bet without fear of being booed out of the casino. If you have a story about playing Don’t Pass bets in a casino, make a comment and share!
