Bonus Deuces Wild Video Poker Guide

Bonus Deuces Wild is a zippy single-player video poker game where the object of the game is to score a winning hand, with the additional benefit of using 2’s as a wild card and a Double or Nothing Bonus round after each win. There are many options to customize your game for the kind of action you seek, such as variable hand pricing, playing multiple hands (from 3 to 100 at a time).

How to Play Bonus Deuces Wild Poker

The object of the game is to build the best possible hand from the cards dealt. There are so many options to choose from before play begins. Decide how many hands you want to play at the same time. Then select the chips that you want to bet. They are converted to 4 credits to the dollar. Minimum buy-in is $5.00.

After that, click Bet One or Bet Max (Bet Max increases your payout potential) and your cards are dealt. The pay table updates to show you the payout rates for the number of coins you decide to bet.

To hold the cards you want to keep, click on them and the Hold marker displays on the card. Click Draw Deal to replace the cards you don’t want to keep. You can only draw once. This is your finished hand.

The value of your hand is ranked by the number of cards with the same rank, from the same suit, or having cards in consecutive order. You win when you build any of the following hands:

  1. Royal Flush
  2. Four Deuces with Ace High
  3. Four Deuces

Bonus Deuces Wild Poker Tips

The beauty of Video Poker is that you can win if you keep cards that can be used in multiple types of hands. If you are dealt a good starting hand featuring at least three cards like 8-9-10-Q-3, hold everything but the three. The odds of you getting a straight are higher. If you are dealt an even more flexible hand such as J-J-10-Q-5, keep everything except the five. This hand has the potential to win Jacks or Better, plus you also have the opportunity to be dealt a Three-of-a-Kind if you get another Jack; a Straight, if you are dealt a King or a Nine, and Two Pair if you are dealt a second Ten or Queen. Using this tip is particularly useful when playing with multiple hands at a time.

Max Bet as often as possible. This increases your payouts exponentially.

Bonus Deuces Wild Poker Glossary

When you understand all of the terms and hands in Bonus Deuces Wild Poker, you will be able to make informed decisions to win more games. Below are common words that you will come across while playing Bonus Deuces Wild Poker.

Bankroll: The total amount of money that you are planning to spend for this game session.

Behind: Not currently having the best hand.

Bet: The amount of money you wager during the play of any hand.

Bet Max: A betting option that automatically bets the maximum amount of coins per game.

Bottom End: The lowest rank of a possible straight. For example, with the cards 5-6-7 in your hand, getting the 3-4 dealt to you gives you a bottom end straight. If you are dealt a 4-8 or 8-9, these combinations would be considered higher straights. Also called the “idiot end”.

Discard: This is a previously dealt card that is now out of play. The set of discards in the round is called the “muck” or the “deadwood”.

Flush: A Flush is a poker hand that consists of five cards in the same suit, but not in a sequence such as Q-6-4-2-A of Diamonds. It ranks higher than a Straight but lower than a Full House.

Four Deuces with Ace High: A hand of all four “2” Wild Cards and an Ace, such as A-2-2-2-2. It ranks above Four Deuces and below a Royal Flush.

Four Deuces: A Four-of-a-Kind made up of all four “2” Wild Cards with an unmatched card other than an ace, such as 2-2-2-2-10. It ranks above a Wild Royal and below a Four Deuces with Ace High.

Four-of-a-Kind: A Four-of-a-Kind hand has four cards of one rank, and an unmatched card of another rank, such as Q-Q-Q-Q-3. It ranks higher than a Full House but lower than a Straight Flush. Also known as a Quad.

Five Aces: A Four-of-a-Kind hand that is made up of any combination of Aces and “2” Wild Cards, such as A-A-2-2-2 or A-A-A-A-2. It ranks above Five 3-5 and below a Wild Royal.

Five 3-5: A Four-of-a-Kind hand that is made up of any combination of 3’s, 4’s, or 5’s and “2” Wild Cards, such as 3-3-2-2-2 or 5-5-5-5-2. It ranks above Five 6-K and below Five Aces.

Five 6-K: A Four-of-a-Kind hand that is made up of any combination of 6’s, 7’s, 8’s, 9’s, 10’s, Jacks, Queens or Kings and “2” Wild Cards, such as A-A-2-2-2 or A-A-A-A-2. It ranks above a Straight Flush and below a Five 3-5 hand.

Hand: The set of five cards dealt to you that are currently in play.

High End: The highest rank of a possible straight using the same three cards in sequence. For example, with the cards 7-8-9 in your hand, getting the 10-J dealt out, you end up with a high end straight. If you are dealt a 5-6 or 6-10, these groupings would be considered lower straights and have less value.

Hold: When you click on the cards you want to keep in play, a “Hold” marker displays on them. When you click Draw, the Dealer replaces all the other cards in your hand.

Limit: The lowest and highest bets you can make in Bonus Deuces Wild Poker.

Straight: A Straight contains five cards in order, but not all in the same suit, like Q-J-10-9-8. In Bonus Deuces Wild Poker, the Ace can’t “wrap around”, or play both high and low: 3-2-A-K-Q is not considered a Straight. It ranks higher than a Three-of-a-Kind but lower than a Flush.

Straight Flush: A Straight Flush contains five cards in sequence, all of the same suit, such as K-Q-J-10-9 of Spades. An Ace-high Straight Flush (A-K-Q-J-10) is called a “Royal Flush”, and is the highest ranking standard Poker hand.

Three-of-a-Kind: Three-of-a-Kinds are also called Trips or Priles. They contain three cards of the same rank, plus two unmatched cards that have no value, for example, Q-Q-Q-9-4. It is the lowest ranked hand in Bonus Deuces Wild Poker.
