Country crooner LeAnn Rimes and hunky actor Eddie Cibrian got engaged over the Christmas holidays in Los Angeles.
If you don’t remember, both Rimes and Cibrian were married to other people when they met and subsequently had affairs. The pair co-starred in the 2009 Lifetime original TV movie “Northern Lights.” Many people don’t remember the movie, since their affair was more interesting to read about. Well, now the dirty tabloid story has become a love story.
The highly publicized affair took place when Rimes was married to dancer Dean Sheremet, while Cibrian was raising two kids with his then wife, model and makeup artist Brandi Glanville. Naturally, both marriages went up in flames.
Even though Rimes attempted to rip apart her home wrecker image and apologized for hurting people because of her affair with Cibrian, she was ultimately pleased with the final outcome of the affair.
The two home wreckers are following suit from a large amount of celebs that have announced engagements over the holiday season.
On Monday, Rimes took her her Twitter account to announce, “Eddie [Cibrian] and I got engaged over the holidays. That’s the news. It’s for real this time and the first time EVER!”
The newly engaged couple was also recently spotted traveling through Los Angeles’ LAX Airport. Rimes was reportedly showing off her engagement bling, a platinum bauble featuring an enormous five carat diamond set in the middle of a rose gold fleur-de-lis.
The internet was abuzz yesterday with rumors that Rimes is also pregnant. She took to her Twitter account, yes, again, very poetically explaining, “This is such BS!!!! Lol, you people all report BS” Hmmm, we guess she’s not.
Looks like Cibrian’s ex Brandi Glanville isn’t too pleased with the news. She posted a message on her ex’s page on Twitter. Glanville wrote, “Congrats! (Again) Thank u for announcing this to the press before telling our kids. As u leave 4 vaca (vacation), once again, I got this!”
A big congratulations to the happy couple and everyone who has gotten engaged over this amazing holiday season! We have a sneaky suspicion that the soon-to-be Mrs. Cibrian will probably quickly turn into a scary Bridezilla waiting to terrorize her future wedding planner…
So, what do you think guys – how many of these new marriages will make it to 2012? Anyone placing bets?
