I know we love online casino games at Silver Oak Casino’s blog, but today I would like to give you an update on one of my favorite TV poker shows: High Stakes Poker. The show is now on its seventh season, and in case you have not watched it, let me tell you that it features the greatest titans of poker in really intense poker action.

I have been excited to watch each and every season of the show because they have a great cast, great production and amazing poker. However, for the past couple of seasons they have implemented some changes that seemed to change the format of the show a little and I am not sure if it was for the better.

Last year they had professional poker player Kara Scott step in for one of the original hosts, AJ Benza. Even though the transition was hard, Scott has earned her spot in the show respectfully, so I got over that easily. Besides, watching Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan in live action was priceless (he is my favorite poker player).

This year it seems like the changes keep getting more intense. They are moving away from their usual location at the Golden Nugget to the Bellagio on The Strip, which is manageable. However, as PokerStars became the main sponsor of the show, Full Tilt Poker has banned all of their sponsored pros from playing on the show. This means no more Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonius and other great figures.

The new season of the showwill air on GSN in February, 2011. I am still not sure on what to expect, but I am definitely excited to watch some good poker. I hope that even without some remarkable poker pros, the show will manage to keep the same level of play and continue to be a favorite among gaming TV shows.
