E.T. : The Extra Terrestrial came out in 1982 and enchanted audiences and critics with its tale of the love between a young boy and a freakish alien. So it’s probably not that surprising that, according to reports, Steven Spielberg and Drew Barrymore have been discussing the possibility of a sequel. Of course, the cynic in me would like to point out that the movie grossed almost a billion dollars, but I’m sure that has nothing to do with their desire to bring back the little space-critter for one more movie.

But if they did happen to do a sequel, it raises a few interesting questions. Will Reese’s Pieces become the in snack of the 21st century? Do they even still make Reese’s Pieces? Will the sequel be called: E.T. 2: Electric Boogaloo? Will E.T. 2 be wildly successful, thus re-starting a trend of making sitcoms about cute, little creatures from outer space, like Alf and that furry alien in Mork & Mindy? And finally, will Hollywood ever stop pillaging our childhood loves and memories in order to make a few more dollars?

If you’d like to forget about Hollywood’s knack for wrecking everything for profit, play our online slot Outta This World. You can revisit your childhood vision of little green men zooming around space, and win some big money in the process.
