Ok, so we know that we’ve been blabbing about engagements but A. tis the season (so it seems) and B. we can’t NOT talk about this one…It’s the mother of all engagements! Those other engagements just don’t matter anymore. Jessica Simpson, Vanessa Minnillo– all future brides- step aside.
I can just hear the screams of girls crying and biting into cookie dough all over the world. It was announced that Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to wed.
According to the official statement from the prince’s official residence Clarence House- The royal wedding will take place in London during the Spring or Summer of 2011.
The statement also revealed that Prince William, second in line to the throne, proposed to his lady love during an October holiday in Kenya. Additionally, the Prince informed his grandmother (The Queen of England) and other family members before details were officially announced to us commoners.
Prince William also asked his future father in law for his daughter’s hand in marriage (Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww!)
The two met eight years ago while attending the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. The couple apparently has made it against all odds, due to the future bride’s “status” of having no royal or aristocratic lineage. Middleton hails from Bucklebury, in Berkshire. Both of her parents worked in the airline industry (her mother was a flight attendant) and her family currently runs a high-end party planning company (she wasn’t born with a silver spoon in her mouth)… In fact, Kate will be the first “commoner” to marry into the royal family in over 350 years!
Prime Minister David Cameron was quoted in front of his official residence exclaiming, “It’s a great moment for national celebration, but we also need to remember that we must give them plenty of space to think about the future.”
An insider gushed, “Everyone is absolutely delighted. He has never had eyes for any other woman since Kate came on the scene. She is going to make a wonderful wife, a wonderful princess.”
I just hope that everyone in the royal house is please with the Prince’s choice. No one wants to read “Royal Divorce” headlines!
The upcoming nuptials are predicted to be the biggest royal wedding since William’s mother, Diana, married Prince Charles.
The statement concluded that the royal couple plans to reside in North Wales, where William is currently stationed by the Royal Air Force.
There is much to speculate after the engagement is out. Will the wedding be televised? What is the exact date? Where will the couple honeymoon? Most importantly- who will design the bride’s wedding dress?
In the mean time, lets raise a cuppa tea with some milk in honor of these two.
Kate has certainly won the royal jackpot!!
