Apple’s Middle finger: It’s Pointed at You

By on

Let’s get this clear right off the start: Apple makes some absolutely fantastic products. The issue is not with the quality of their products, but the attitude and manner in which the company operates.

They are giving their customers the middle finger, and for some reason the customers are thanking them for it.

I make the argument that it doesn’t have to be this way. If we want Apple to stop treating their customers with disrespect, we need to stop praising them for doing so. Stop regurgitating their slogans, such as “it just works”. If it “just worked” there wouldn’t be over 300,000 Google results when searching for “Apple repairs”.

Apple makes luxury products. They are built to last for only a short time and cost more than they should. This is okay, but it’s not okay to look down on someone, simply because they have chosen not to buy Apple. I can’t say this enough times: The photo, webpage, video or song you’re working on has no idea what brand-name your computer is.

food for thought http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Placebo I’m sure there are ways to explain how a mac from 8 years ago (with specs that are shit compared to nowadays) can be “faster” than your grandfather’s pc

You are a model Apple customer… [looks down shakes head in disappointment]

I am sorry but you are the typical individual that hides behind the slogan of apple. Do you even know how to use the terminal to accomplish any networking tasks? I love Windows, so does BIG business and if you love computers; Mac/Linux/Unix or Windows…Even the Android distro is getting in the business, but either way…. you will know how to protect yourself (or you should). I can run Windows and always browse with IE and be 100% w/o anti-virus and be fine, plus I know how to keep my OSs clean. That shyte is just basic. My old PC (7 years but maintained) is more than likely better than your Mac and if it is not….It will challenge you.

Since your information is objectively not true (do a search for side-by-side tests of things like speed), are you lying because you truly are an Apple die-hard customer, or are you simply fooling yourself and trying to fool others?

I’m all for buying whatever the heck trips your trigger, but I get very tired of the fan-boy nonsense from all sides.

And, yes, I own all kinds of different products. I have a home-built PC (Windows), both Apple and Android tablets, phones with Windows and Android. No one can objectively state that any of the products are tremendously superior to the others. They all work just fine, and they all have issues (including the almighty iPad that I do have to reboot from time to time just like all the other electronics).

Not one manufacturer deserves loyalty of any kind. Every one of them is interested in one thing only…parting you from your money.

      • Joe says:

HAHHA actually his information is pretty accurate. Search for side by side tests and the majority of them apple loses on. Apple users are like those crazy republicans.. Ignore facts and just make things up lol.

My family has owned a Windows desktop our entire life. I owned 2 different Windows laptops in a span of 6 years. I have owned a Macbook Pro now for 2 years. I can tell you first hand that I did not even want to switch over but my dad, who was helping me pick out a good one, suggested that I look into apple products. I was totally opposed because I made the same mistake you did. I hated the company for its high-class and rich appearance. When my dad finally convinced me that it is worth the money, I bought the Macbook Pro I am using now for a little over 1,500$. I have not regretted it once since then. It makes me wonder if you have ever tried apple products, I mean really tried them. Not just for a couple days I mean for years. Like I said I was born and raised a Windows man and I can say right now that I have NEVER experienced a faster, more reliable, and safer computer than this Apple Macbook. All I am saying is give these products a chance, yes Apple is persistent and will do whatever they can to make us spend more money, but don’t all businesses do that?

    • anonymous joe says:

I have nothing aganist macs, my school used only macs and so I was around them for 4 years. But, people who argue the difference between macs and windows is that macs are “more reliable or safer” should look do a little more research than just watching apple advertisements

    • Nicolas says:

I have actualy used apple desktops and laptops for 8 years in my elementary school. (they for some reason desides to spend twice as much as they needed to on computers) I hated every minuite of it. When I went home from school I would go on my very basic pc running windows me and I can say without a doubt my pc ran faster, was more practical, and out lasted all of the apple computers. Another example was when I bought my hp hdx 16 and my friend bought a mac pro. The stats are very very similar. The only major differences were the alluminum vs the plastic and os they ran. He paid $1000 more for his then I paid for mine and i still have mine 5 years later and where is his? not only do I still have mine but I am still running revit, and autocad 2014, and it can still run adobe after effects. So in conclusion, yes @Brad, you should “really try” both. I garuntee that if you used both coputers side by side in identical circumstances you would regret eing the sucker that paid $1000 more for your computer.

Fuck Microsoft, and Fuck Apple. Linux, bitch. I never liked macs for more than about five minutes. I got a nasty virus that even the top three virus tools could not remove so I switched to Ubuntu because my windows disk was too scratched to install properly and I have NEVER looked back.

My daughter bought an apple laptop & purchased an extended warranty. When liquid spilled on the table and UNDER her computer, they refused to honor the extended warranty and fix their product. They said it doesn’t cover liquid damage… They should honor the warranty no matter what the problem! I would never buy an apple product.

  6. Charlie Manson says:

I was a Mac user since the first iMac came out in the late 90′s. Always used Mac’s up until I had to purchase my first computer myself in 2011. Purchased a “top-of-the-line” HP Pavilion laptop because I couldn’t come CLOSE to affording a Mac. That was my only reason.

Lo and behold, PC’s are so much better!!

After using my PC for the last 2 years, and enjoying tons of unauthorized 3rd party perks, I went to my parents house for the weekend.

Their wireless network wasn’t working properly, and… forget about accessing the modem or router through their new iMac. Seems like there’s no such thing… wtf? No Control Panel? I have to use Preferences? Which are super limiting to anyone (read: consumers) who doesn’t have the “Genius” diagnostic software that your local Apple Store has?

I hated PC’s all my life, and a simple switch due to financial reasons has convinced me to forego Apple products forever.

Plus, Apple fanboys (that applies to you too, girls) are complete assholes anyway. They aren’t gamers, or hackers, or anything else that thrives on ingenuity and freedom. They are assholes.

A lot of anger here, and even more time

  8. Steve says:

These are all very valid points and outline a very clear ideal for the geek that can’t afford a decent computer, but most people don’t have time to sit online waiting for the next generation of processor to come out to make their computer that much faster. Most people want to buy a product that they know is of good quality and that they feel confident in the company’s ability to offer a comprehensive warranty. Apple does both of these things very well and sells a lot of product because of it. Quit complaining because it’s not the product for you. Apple is a business remember, making money comes before making the computer geeks happy.

  9. Argo_Bioya says:

    Fuck you PC brainwashed fucks.

  10. Kevin says:

This is definitely true, but you can’t deny the fact that Microsoft is a criminal as well. Windows update is horse shit that purposely gives you faulty video drivers if your computer is more that 3 years old, and every new os blows for the first 2 years. They also aren’t designing windows 7 for new computers.
And in terms of people saying macs are faster than new pcs, that is because companies load trial software that slows you down, as well as antivirus like Macafee or nortan that sucks. What you have to do is reload your computer from scratch
